Diablo Blvd

The Antwerp metal band DIABLO BLVD latest album, entitled Builders of Empires came out last year on PIAS and was produced once again by Ace Zec (Customs, The Setup), with Jens Bogren doing the mixing (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Grand Magus). Builders of Empires contain 11 tracks and sounds harder, more dynamic and more epic than any of DIABLO BLVD’s work so far.

Previous work
After their successful demo Scarred & Undefeated in 2007 and their thundering full cd The Greater God in 2009 (PIAS, production: Ace Zec, mix: Oscar Holleman) DIABLO BLVD are ready to take it to the next level.

DIABLO BLVD were founded in 2005. The name is a reference to a song by the band Corrosion of Conformity. Front man Alex Agnew is not short of good company; Andries Beckers and Tim Bekaert gained their experience in music by playing in bands such as Born from Pain and A Brand. Their influences, ranging from Danzig to The Cult and from Guns ‘N Roses to Black Label Society, go to make a perfect match, with lyrics that could easily have been picked up from classic rock and roll and the blues.

Key gigs
For the last years DIABLO BLVD have been performing quite a bit in both Belgium and the Netherlands, with killer gigs at Graspop, Pukkelpop and Casa Blanca. The group ended 2010 in style by performing as surprise guests on the roof of the Glass House during the Music For Life week organised by Flemish radio station Studio Brussel. DIABLO BLVD left the Antwerp Groenplaats shaking to its very foundations. The album landed position number 19 on the Belgian charts and first single Black Heart Bleed reached number 13 in the Alternative charts. The band is now ready to reach for new markets and is available for shows in the rest of Europe.
